no worries I will just cruise in Portland and have fun while it last.   Do whatever works about the dentist appt. no worries don't stress everything will work out .  Dana told me all about the her pa doing the splits hahah.   Parker on the Lines camping trip; its getting pretty serious and if she goes to Jackson Hole oh its over for him, example austin lindsey katie aaron savanna ryan you and Dad;  its done. hahah sounds like a pretty good gift for little lukie pookie; can't wait to see his video. please take a picture of Parker as the cross dressing little red riding hood, hope they take video.

All is good here and just having fun but this Wednesday is the last transfer day for me on the mission.  I hope I don't leave, I  love this place and working is just starting get hot and in 2 weeks I think it will be red hot so i don't want to leave.  No they don't do the trek but they just had a stake youth activity and  they went to a resort and swim and eat and pretty much vacation and then listen to some speakers but that's it.  They will get it soon enough but they have  no scouting here either.
Nice to hear grandpa is doing good but ya um it wont be the same when thanksgiving comes around because grandma is always there, i miss her too.

No worries about more money.  I'm tryin to contact the nativity dude but he isn't responding so i don't know about the nativity for you and kt.  Im still trying but ya miss you guys.  We will see each other soon lets just say 44 days hahah wow.

Guihulngan

This week is good we had a great lesson yesterday.  We have this family right next to a member and they were a referral but we have taught them 3 times now and we committed them to be baptized for June 23.  The brother drinks a little bit so we will teach them again this Thursday so hopefully that will be good.  They are a new family and their 2 out of the 3 kids are already members, but the other girl is still to little.  She is 4 but dang their little girls are way cute. We committed brother and sister last night.  I love that feeling when  they take that leap of faith and accept baptism.  Sister is ready and Brother a little iffy.  We will see.  The weather is just the same old same old and I still cant swim to cool off haha.  My stomach is good, I don't know about the xray I'm seriously in the dark about everything here.  I just do missionary work and babysit my other half all day long 24/7 and its kinda killing me but the work keeps me alive.  I hate going home at night because work is over and then I just have to endure my baby.  But honestly we are good its a little rough though.  This week he just blew up on me and i don't know what for so ya ? ? ?  The guy kinda acts like a cub scout maybe wolf status.  Sorry i have to speak in slang because he is scamming my email right now but if i use big words or slang it doesn't sink in but yes I'm so good akuna matata.

Way to go Luke, silly old gal! You are all graduating, and are  you going on the trek biggins ? That is cool you did like a senior night for mutual; wish we did that. Nice upside down pic on the wakeboard Pookie!

Heard about Dana's work, sounds like a good old fun time!  Have fun cleaning the poop out of the pool. haha where is the pool what is the location?

Wow, Alexa got married too? That was quick too. Who is the guy?

Camelback for your girls, nice they are probably not entirely ready but they got their foot in the door right so that is good.

I know Parker is probably dying but that's what you get when you go skateboarding when you are still in a sling.

Way to go Katie and Aaron nice, having fun living the dream?

Good luck Ma and Pa, is old yeller going with you guys?

It was way nice to see you all, I miss you guys so much.  (Referring to Skype conversation on Mother's Day)

Honestly when I think about leaving this place I get a little teary eyed.  I love these people mom, they have changed my life for the best and I don't know how to repay them.  I am so in debited to them.  I love love love times infinity love; these people.  Deep down I will always have them in my heart and I don't think they will ever leave.

Last night we went to Bacolod and I stayed in my last area, Handumanan and visited a little bit.  Then today i got a xray then we went home so now were back in Guihulngan.  Mom, promise me you guys will come back with me to visit these people for at least 2 weeks.  I know that is long time and its expensive but you have to meet my family that I have had for 2 years, the filipino people.  I feel like I am kinda ready to stop being missionary but not ready to leave.  I mean I love you guys but I love my family here too. I will miss the green of the countryside.  When we came home today and it looks like straight "Lost" country in the middle of this island. Actually, better then Lost.

Yes, Sister is way nice all the people are like that here just do what they can to help. I think its just because I'm an American but  my comp didn't skype he just called .

Luke, honestly enjoy the graduation as much as possible you will never have another one of those. Wow, Avengers sounds good I will have to see that one.  Dana is working on the reservation, that will be cool way to go.
So all the weddings were in the temple?   Way  to go, and super excited for Tait.
Love you all ,sorry its short

We had a baptism this week; it was so awesome.  He is 18 and he gave a great testimony at the end.  It was so powerful and his whole family is so elect.  His mom is already finished with the Book of Mormon and she has only been a member of 2 months.  They are awesome, the Bulabon family.  My comp is good we are trying to to push ourselves and keep the work progressing and I love it here but I'm the only American over on this side. I do miss seeing some of the American Elders but I love it here.  I'm starting to get this new language down, I know I still probably sound like a retard but its a cool language. The people are more humble here because its a small fishing city.
That's awesome about Taylor and hum...boy bands are back huh? hahah wow I wonder how long they will last?  Tell the girls to have fun but they should focus on something that is a little more meaningful then a boy band, sorry I sound like a preacher but it's true.
Chris way to go about the highjump we trained you well in the living room didn't we? with all the pillows and the broomstick haha. keep on practicing with those pillows and broomstick hahah and keep on having fun.

Way to go about the priesthood Luke, that's all that really matters.  Maybe do a big lake trip the lake for graduation, the lake never fails.

Honestly mom, all I want when I get home is a big dinner with everyone there and a family home evening where we sing the prophet song and we all laugh at Chris and his lesson or we will watch the classic rattlesnake Indian movie that dad loves and then we can have bunny tracks and cereal and then play cards.  Then I will be completely satisfied.  Oh and I want to go swim as a family in the back yard and do all the pool games.  I love our home, you have no idea, mom thank you so much.  I will never forget our home and you and Dad and Katie, Aaron, Parker, Luke, Dana, Chris...you all are my family and I'm so lucky that you are my eternal family.  I wouldn't want it any other way; so sorry if you all are stuck with me but that's the way it is, I love you all.

I cant wait to see you but I still have 3 months of work but then you guys better to get ready to swim.  The beach here kills me everytime I get close I just want to dive right in; so all I'm saying is just get ready to swim.  Oh and one more thing that would be nice is for you to schedule a dentist appointment so when I get back I can get my grill fixed because I look like a fool, hahah

love,

Sounds like a fun Easter dinner.  Can't believe I will miss the big wedding gosh dang but take some pictures and send them if you don't I will not come home.  I will just stay here and marry here and live here.  So send pictures!

Conference was so good, I had a great time and they were the most awesome talks.  Wow, I wish I could watch it again but the computers stink and its not possible.  It would take a year to download it again.

Thank you for the package so much, you're the best mom.  Thanks for marshmallows.  I do like the food here but it is nothing like American, the best.  Don't know how you know my date when I'm not sure about when we get home.   The mission is not organized  and they don't tell the missionaries anything, so I don't know.  I know I just have a little more then 3 months left.  Nathan is there? and Taylor is coming home? oh how I miss those guys.

I hope Grover can win one that would be awesome he deserves it, tell him hi for me if you can...I miss that guy.

As for me, I'm good don't need too much.  I'm just trying to enjoy and have fun and push and trying to have no regrets.

thank you family,

Hey family,
So how is everyone doing? Sounds like you had fun in Havasupi and tell Shaun hello for me.
Sorry I didn't email this pday.  Yesterday, the office elders said, "Hey come to Bacolod for a surprise."  So every missionary came to Bacolod and we are the furthest area and so we left a 5 am and got there at 11:30.  When we get there and they said that's awesome you came here, we are switching out your cellphone sim cards.  Really, we wasted our entire pday, canceled a fhe with a family just to go to Bacolod and get a new sim card?  The thing is next week we have zone conference so they will be coming over here for that.  We  couldn't just wait a week.  Gosh, we got back around 8:30 pm so I emailed everyone except you.  I don't like rushing the email to the family.  I love the people here so much, but sorry I am venting on the office elders, a bunch of fools.  We just found out that are new president will be coming in on July 1 and he is from Hawaii.   I hope he can change this mission around. and find the balance of the best hardworking mission but also have a little fun every once in awhile.

We had 3 baptisms this Saturday.  It was awesome, the family is amazing.  The Sapatalo family, the brother was a member that Elder Pajes and Elder Mayer rescued.  They got him to come back to church so then we have been teaching the wife and his 2 kids that are 11 and 10.  It was so great and the branch here is awesome and way fun.  It is the people that keep me going and keep me in high spirits.  I love this branch, I know I have only been here for 3 weeks but I enjoy it so much.  I hope this will be my last area and me and Elder Pajes can go one more transfer together.  We are teaching some other people also who have a date for April 21.  Sister Jesa Lo and Brother Jeston Bulabon and then a part member family Brother Mark Hino-o these people are so elect, hopefully we can keep on making everything roll.

Keep on thinking about what you guys want me to bring home.  Think like when we were in Hawaii and the stuff there but more islandy and original.  Remember on Maui when we went to that big outside ramada thing where there was a bunch of native things...it would be things like that.  Yes, they have knock off toms but tell Dana to get something else.  I will find Nativities for you and Katie.

So it was an eye opener coming here, the city is pretty damaged.  We don't have too many service projects from what I can tell,  but i only have been here for 10 days.  Our house is good. just cement but we just live in the city on the beach and its not a ward its a branch but the branch is good.

Home
Sounds like everyone is good, I really want to see grandpa so bad even if his mind is not too sharp.  I want to see all the family but not ready to leave here yet.

The language is about 70 percent different from illongo and everyone speaks it here.  They understand a bit of  illongo but not very well.  I'm trying to study but its a little different.

Wish me luck,

So so so so so yup; I got transferred it knocked me off my feet a little bit.  I can deal with a transfer to some other area but dang the area knocked me down.  I'm in a place called Guihulgan Negros Oriental and I don't speak Illongo anymore I speak Cebuano. Wow I'm excited to learn Cebuano but it feels like I'm starting over with this whole language thing again.  The other thing is this is the city that was hammered from the earthquake and we have church outside because the church is not a safe structure.  The church is still standing but the church sank down in the back and there are some cracks throughout the church so we meet outside.  My comp is Elder Pajes he is awesome, we already have alot of fun and the branch is way fun.  The cebuano thing is fun but difficult. I'm having the time of my life.

I miss the Handumanan wards and the people over there but wow when I took my 6 hour bus ride from Bacolod over the top of the mountains of Negros Island it was an awesome ride.  When we come back here we have to take that ride its amazing. So that is what happened to me but mom thank you for your letter to Kata; I forwarded it to Elder Simmons.

POPS HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! AND KATIE AND AARON CONGRATS ON THE "SON"!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun with your adventure.  I wish I could be there but I'm liking it here and am not ready to come back yet.   Nothing much to report yet, just that I am speaking a different language and I'm in the earthquake city of the Negros.  Having a great time!

Thank you for the emails and tell everyone heello for me and I haven't got my package yet probably soon... I want a list from everyone of what they want, I got some ideas for the fam but I'm still not sure or we can wait til we come back and visit the philis when you guys are with me.  It's up to you two lovebirds but thanks for everything.

love you all

Hey Family,

The work is finally good; its just nice to see things are finally coming together for us.  Elder Simmons and I  feel that we are trying our best and now we are seeing the results.  Of course, we can do so much better but now that we have seen the results so that want us to be better and trry to do the best we can.

Mom, can you write a letter to one of our investigators.  She is 17 and is way smart but her family is broken and she is always fighting with her mom.  She wants to get on right terms with her mom but she doesn't know how to get on right terms because she has no trust in her mom and her mom has no trust in her.  Your assignment is to write and tell her how she can get back on right terms with her mom and what moms want to hear from their kids.  She is awesome girl but is pretty much alone.  She lives with her mom and she wants to get baptized but she feels like she has to fix her relationship with her mom before she gets baptized.  That's what you write about. Thanks mom, you're the best.  Can you write me back by tomorrow or today so we can show Kata what mothers think.

OK, I sent some pictures because I feel bad that you are sick:

Me and elder Simmons mixing cement for the outhouse we made for members

primary activity they are way cute kids maybe in the future adopt one hah no joke

me and the elders president he as only been a member for 1 year but he is the man

just a meeting with some elders there are 3 from Arizona and yes that is elder Potts, Parker

the cutest little girl and the picture is not even good; it doesn't give her any justice you got to pick her up and hold her then you will realize how cute she is

 well love you lots also

How is everyone?

Dana, no kissy kissy with Augie.

Sounds like you guys are doing good and are having fun and having a lot of great experiences so that is good to hear.

The house is good here and the reactivation is good, can you believe it?  We had a good Sunday,  A bunch of people came back to church this week.  Hopefully they can continue and progress.  We have some great experiences with these families here and are starting to get a good relationship with them.  It was a problem when I got transferred here to ward 1 because the filipino that was with elder Simmons when we lived together, and I was in ward 2...he kinda talked bad about Americans.  So when I got put here in the ward 1, they didn't have any trust for us.  It was rough earning their trust and to show them that we actually could work hard.  We had to prove we're just not big lazy white people.  It was hard to follow up the filipino because he didn't do anything his last transfer and then he talked crap about us.  Now the Bishop can see that we are actually fun and hard working.  Sometimes people here are a little racist because they think all Americans are way rich.  Yes, we do have a better life then them in monetary ways, but gosh sometimes i get sick of everyone thinking, "Oh you're American, your life is so easy".  They just don't realize but its all good and I do love these people.

About the photos, you guys don't get any photos because I don't get any photos from you sorry haha its the way it works.
Good luck Mom on the young women calling, you will do great just whatever you do...don't set me up with any of your laurels.  Not really interested and besides I don't even know how to talk to girls anymore.  Dad keep on feeling better.  Katie don't get too fat.  Aaron enjoy your sleep as much as you can right now,  Parker, BYU Hawaii it's on!  Luke keep on having fun and work hard.  Dana namian mo itum halong ka da , Chris don't be a girl, suck up... the dentist is so much worse for kids here.

From Dave's letter:  (Jared writes a note to young men in the ward)

Tell the young men they don't know what true happiness is because they haven't served a mission.  They will be such a better person after and they will have true direction in their life.  They don't know what is really out there in the world; all they know is Gilbert, Arizona right now  When they go on a mission they can see the world and see the lives of others.  Because of the things they see and their experiences they will appreciate how good they had it back home.  They will also realize that the church is a blessing; they can't possible know how much until they serve.  Their family is a blessing that they take for granted too.  They will never realize how important those things are until you take it away from them for a little while.  I also think if they don't go on mission they are telling Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father that their life is more important then others.  That is straight up selfish and they will regret it their whole life.  Of course they don't know whats out here and what they can learn, because they are just in their bubble right now.  The mission prepares you not only for life but also for eternity .

Thank you so much for the tops.  Oh man, the kids in the house with me are making fun of my huge yellow pit stains.  My tops were all fine until I bought this new deodorant and I bought it because it was cheap.  Did it ever leave the biggest yellow stains and those stains don't come out.  Thank you Mom!
So this week was better.  We are coming off that low.  I sure miss the other ward they just were so much more helpful and fun.  These people are good too but they don't help to much and they don't have any action.  We are trying to push the ward in a nice way but they just have no action whatsoever. It is really    its up to them; I am sure they will figure it out.  Lets just hope they will figure it out soon.  We had this one family that is way awesome and they finally came back for the first time to church in awhile.   The father used to be a high council man in the La Carlota stake but then they moved up here and they had some problems.  He went back to his smoking and his kids are all in there twenties and they are great and way fun.  One of the girls has a live in but other then that they are doing good.  A spark is in their eyes again.

Tell Scott congrats.  Also tell Dana congrats too for asking aiono he will probably be way fun.  So what happens to the surfboards after the dance?

Haha Parker congrats on that call, that just reminds me of the singles ward about the elders Q president. haha but yeah, have fun with that one.

Nope I haven't got my travel plans yet but thanks for putting that thought in my head.  By the way, I played basketball in a prison last week.

Yes, the earthquake was pretty cool.  Our whole east side got cracked pretty well ,but from Cebuano and south of there on the east side is Cebu mission.
My new ward is good but ward 2 is better really.  We have been working our butts off to get some less actives back to church and we don't have too many investigators but we have a couple.  We have a new filipino in the house that is pretty talkative; but he doesn't smile and he doesn't laugh and is not fun whatsoever.  Really he is a Debbie downer about everything and that isn't too fun so we try to be out of the house as long as we can to tell you the truth. My comp Elder Simmons is good but we feel bad for Elder Jennings.
Wow, how about Jacob, glad you all had fun at the wedding.  Tell Ben and Jamie congrats they are perfect for each other.  Sweet the budda; tell Parker to take care of him!
How is everyone?  Is Katie looking different?

I'm just thinking I was the last of my friends to leave, so all the other friends will be back in no time wow!

well mom. love you guys and sorry my emails short but love you all,

Handumann

So a crazy thing happened today, we had a good 6.8 earthquake just 2 hours ago.  I guess a lot of earthquakes hit the Philippines.  Today though; wow that was a crazy feeling.  Kinda cool but scary.  A lot of the people freaked out here.  Some people were fainting and it was like Godzilla was coming with all the people running out of stores.

My transfer was kinda crazy also.  I was transferred over to Ward 1 but this means I will stay in Handumann.  Jennings is now a sr and I'm with Elder Simmons.  So I work with new people but still get to see the old ward also because Handumanan isn't too big.  That is it for the today though I might email you guys later.  Sorry, it is just that today has been kinda weird with the whole earthquake.  The electricity keeps on going in and out so i will just try to get this email off.  I will email you later this week.

Hey Momma bear and family,

This week is transfer announcements...I hope I get to stay with Elder Jennings.  I am really having a great time, to tell you the truth I am not getting trunky but maybe just a little.  I mean I have 6 months.  The filipino goes home in 3 days so in the house we have been talking about when our time comes and it makes me sad.  But it also gets me thinking, I will miss these people but I'm ready to see you guys.  I'm ready to have a sunday dinner with the family again.  I'm ready to make a homemade christmas present.  I'm ready for the swimming.  I'm ready to go hang out with all the rm's and Parker.  I'm ready to go to school but not ready to decide what to take.  I'm ready to see you all again. but I'm not ready to leave these people.  They have got my heart wrapped around their fingers.  So in some ways I can't wait til July comes but then I don't want it to come at all.
We are really focusing on less actives, the area authority came out and said all missionaires, "All hands on deck with the less actives".  I enjoy working with the people that are kinda lost because its awesome to see the light shine again in their eyes.  We are working with some great investigators also.  I enjoy this area a lot and yeah we have a real shower in the apartment.  I made a little christmas tour of the house during christmas time and I was going to send it to you guys but the computer wouldn't let me.  I guess you will have to wait until I get back to see everythin.

Oh and yes, I'm liking fish.  I just eat the bones now because I'm  to lazy to pick the bones out, haha just kidding, but seriously.

Today for pday I met a lady here from Gilbert Arizona she lives on Riggs and Val Vista.  She wasn't a  member but it was just weird to talk to someone from the big AZ.
Thanks for the good story about the tongans.  Tell Dana good job on morp, great theme and sounds like the Tongan men were a hit at the pep assembly.  Also tell her and Luke and Pops thanks for the emails.  Sounds like just a normal relaxing week, but thats cool sometime you got to just relax and enjoy everything around you.  Well this my email for the week, sorry I'm no story teller like Parker, you will just have to wait...

love you all

Hello People,

This week was good and our baptism was awesome!  They are awesome members now and that was only 2 people out of their family.  We are still focusing on the family trying to get them to church.  Some of the kids come to church but the parents are busy and they are a little afraid to change.  I can sympathize with that; to tell you the truth I would be too if I hadn't grown up with it.

I had so much fun with my last comp and now I'm having a lot of fun with Jennings and Simmons.

How I wish I could be at those parties and the weddings; dang I would not expect those two to get married first; they were always the most crazy.

Mom you get suckered into a lot of weird things.  Let me guess one of your tennis buddies got you in the miss whatever its called pageant.  You want to hear something funny; here in the philis they have a lot of contests like that.  My favorite is macho gay contest; its awesome...as you can probably imagine.

Chris, hope you are not a baby when you are sick and remember no watching movies when you're not at school!  When mom is gone watch them and then when you hear the garage open you got that remote in the hand and turn everything off.  Just remember if you do, do that you probably have 25 sec to get everything shut off so remember you got to be quick!

Parker and Troy happy birthday.

Tait is a smart man, filpina girls are the way to go.  Tell him congrats for me.  Tell jake to sell that smart car and get two matching baby blue blazers thats where its at!

Everyone take care love you all and halong kamo sa mga koripnut ninyo,

Handumanan

We had a great baptism on Saturday.  Nodelyn Villasorda Barretto and then she was confirmed on Sunday; it went really well.  Sunday we had a great day.  We had 11 investigators at church.  I was happy, sometimes you have those days and then you think finally all this hard work is payiing off.  Elder Jennings and Elder Simmons and I have a lot of fun together.  They are way awesome they make mission life easy and more fun and surprising but yah we are having a blast.
This week we have 2 more investigators getting baptized also we are excited for Diane and Eman Gumban, they are 11 and 16.  Eman the 16 year old is amazing, he is already in Alma.  He is great, we are a little hesitant to baptize him because his parents aren't members yet but they are awesome people.  The 11 year is my crush haha she is a cutie.  I know that's the missionary way but she is awesome.

Dad, it was good to hear about the surgery and that it went well.  That was definitely a blessing to my prayers.  Dad you're a trooper; keep on going and pushing.  Keep me updated too about everything.

Alright Mom if you say someone is going on a mission you got to say where they are going silly goose! He will be an awesome missionary its tough but there is nothing for him to worry about.

I am glad that everyone had a good week.  Parker emailed me a picture from his race,  it looks pretty awesome and next year we're going to have to do that again.  I want to see the video of them getting shocked.  Tell Dana hope she had fun at the Alleys but if she would come here you would spend 100 dollars and by far blow the L.A. Alleys out of the water!  Trust me, so if you ever come here save your money and pack an extra empty suitcase. Sounds like a good start for the new year.  DANG kt wow wow wow !!!!!!!!!!!! That is probably a life changing sound for you hearing that heart beat from inside of your tummy, the big bear congrats you guys.

Everyone love you all!  Dad feel better!
